Every great idea starts with a spark, a shared passion, and usually, a late-night craving for something extraordinary. For us—Reinis and Līva—that spark was a mutual love for great design, effortless urban lifestyle, and the ultimate comfort food: perfectly golden, crispy waffles.
But Wafff & More isn't just a business venture; it’s a family story. Together with our two daughters and our two French Bulldogs (who you might recognize as the stars of our brand logo!), we embarked on a journey that changed our lives forever.
This is the story of how a dream shared over coffee turned into a thriving lifestyle brand and cafe.
The Belgian Inspiration
Our love affair with waffles didn’t start in Latvia. It began during our time living in Belgium, the undisputed capital of the waffle world. Walking through the streets filled with the rich, caramelized aroma of fresh baking, we fell completely in love with the authentic Belgian waffle experience.
When we returned home to Latvia, we realized something was missing. We couldn't find that exact, perfect crunch and rich flavor anywhere. That’s when the idea struck: why not bring a taste of Belgium to Latvia, but wrap it in our own modern, urban style?
Reinis always had an eye for the details—the clean lines, the perfect matte black finishes, and the structure. Līva brought the soul, the creative energy, and a deep appreciation for the little things that make a daily routine feel special.
From Food Truck Festivals to a Permanent Home
We started small but with big hearts. In the beginning, Wafff & More was on wheels. We spent our weekends traveling around Latvia, participating in pop-up events, street food festivals, and private catering. Seeing long lines of smiling people waiting for our waffles gave us the validation we needed—Latvians loved this vibe just as much as we did.
But deep down, we always dreamed of a permanent space. We wanted a place that combined a sleek, modern aesthetic with pure, unpretentious warmth—a home for both our delicious waffles and our signature matte black lifestyle merchandise.
After months of hard work, recipe perfecting, and interior designing, that dream finally became a reality. This year, we proudly opened the doors to the very first official Wafff & More cafe right here in Salaspils!
